What fashion designers are the best innovators and interpreters of timeless rock and roll style?
Many pop stars (notably, Lady Gaga and Madonna) dabble in creative collaborations with designs of high fashion ... that's not what I'm looking at with this question. I'm thinking about timeless and classic rock and roll style. If you watch Project Runway, think of Stella Zotis, Jeffrey Sebelia and Seth Aaron Henderson. In the words of high fashion, I think right away of the huge influence of Vivienne Westwood.
What designers come to mind first for you as creators of clothing with great rock and roll style? Do you have a favorite, and/or do you know of any who regularly create stage gear for well known rock artists?

Betsey Johnson comes to my mind. Her clothing and accessories style seem to be a quite a bit of punk to me. Even if you seen a picture of Betsey Johnson herself, and didn't know who she was, you would wonder if she is some type of rock star. Her styles are fun and remind me so much of the 1980s punk. Of course, this was an era that was one of my favorites. My Halloween costume as a child was constantly a 'punk rocker'!
Another label that comes to mind is Sass & Bide. I think they are a bit edgier in some of their styles, not all but many. I first found out about this brand when I had a clothing store. I had bought a box of bulk clothing. In it, I received the most awesome studded mini skirt you ever seen. I feel in love immediately.
