What exactly is the difference between geometry and arithmetic?
We do calculation of all sorts every day, but why would I want to study geometry or arithmetic or both? Is maths really necessary for every day life?

Geometry is more spatial and focuses on angles and naturally occurring shapes and their relationship to the Earth. Geometry is used more by carpenters, astronauts, and engineers who need to measure shapes to construct or build things. In like manner, construction workers and farmers use geometry to measure the perimeter around a building or a crop or acre to determine land space and to handle zoning issues. Arithmetic, on the other hand, is not focused on space and the earth at all. Instead is a method of calculation, such as addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication. Always think of money or food when thinking of arithmetic. It is more directly used when managing your money or in everyday applications such as buying groceries and trying to determine if there is sufficient funds to cover the bill.
