What exactly is a link back in terms of pagerank?

is it just a name of the web site or does it have to be an actual clickable link? is merely mentioning mysite.com (not clickable) or http://mysite.com (not clickable) sufficient or does it have to be a clickable http://mysite.com? All are searchable by Google and show up in search results BUT are they the same or different in terms of link back for pagerank purposes?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

For a backlink it needs to be clickable:

mysitekeyphrase

There is so much more as to how it counts in page ranking, such as where the link is coming from, the quality of the page, the relativity to your site etc. All backlinks are not created equal. Too many can actually count against you.
