I agree with Dr. Matt, about the oils and the books. The only thing I would add is some tea tree oil. Tea tree essential oil is known for its antiseptic and antifungal properties. It can normally be used in quantities up to 10%, but I would suggest 3% tea tree oil and .5% of your choice of mints to a formula.

Example:
3% tea tree
.5% peppermint and/or spearmint (you want .5 total, not each)
96.5% carrier oil, such as olive, jojoba, almond, avocado etc

For a 4 ounce batch, you'll need:
.12 ounce tea tree oil
.02 mint or mint blend
3.86 oz carrier oil

Have fun!

Treating our feet is one of the most important things to do to care for ourselves. Our feet carry us to our destination. If they are not healthy or do not feel well, it can affect the whole body. Massaging our feet is the best way to keep our feet well. Peppermint, Lavender, Rosemary, Lemon and Eucalyptus are the most common essential oils that are used for massaging feet. Definitely take care of your feet.

I think it depends on what you want accomplished. Different smells evoke different healing...

I tend to enjoy the mints... Spearmint or Peppermint. If you want to cool down, use Spearmint. If you want to heat up, use Peppermint. WARNING: Do NOT use pure mint extract on the skin or ingest it. It is VERY harmful at these concentrations. You MUST dilute it.

Of course, some of the flowers are relaxing... Lavender, Hibiscus.

There's some great books I recommend:
Aromatherapy by Lawless
Essential Oils by Lawless
Healing With Flower and Gemstone Essences by Stein
