Most of the entertainment in Las Vegas is live shows, although some hotels offer amusement park style rides. Most of the live shows in Vegas are magic shows, singing and dancing (or both), hypnotist and circus shows.
Some of the most notable entertainers in Las Vegas are Celine Dion, Lance Burton, Chris Angel (both live demonstrations and his Believe show with Cirque Du Soleil), and hypnotist Marshall Silver.
Most of the major hotels on The Strip offer some sort of entertainment. (As an extra tip, I highly recommend you talk to the cab drivers in Las Vegas about what kinds of entertainment are available. They know more than anyone else about Las Vegas and give away their knowledge for free with your trip.)
