What does the study of economics include?
What areas of political science cover the study of economics and money or is it mostly a topic covered in finance? Are economics and financing required courses for me to obtain most any college degree?

Economics as a discipline has evolved over the years and is still growing. Now, there are several branches of Economics in which you can specialize. Economics is also getting more quantitative and analytical over time and has lead to the growth of ‘Econometrics’, which is the study of economics with the aid of statistical tools. Major branches of economics are behavioral economics, Economical History, International Economics and Financial Economics. Behavioral economics is applied economics.
Political Economics is a wider term and includes the study of economics along with law and government system. Political Economics is generally studied under Macroeconomics and covers topics such as fiscal policies, regulations and monetary policies. Thus, if you are studying Political Science, then you may be required to take up a few economics courses as well.
