What does it mean to "Wrap a House"? Tip: Building Contractors know. How much does it cost & do Home Insurance policies pay part of costs?
After a tropical storm flooded our home in 2001 and after deadly Katrina was a swamp around my house in 2005, our insurance company offered on both occasions that "Wrapping" one's home is a good way to keep water out. It's very expensive. Second option was to raise the house, even more expensive. Because of lost wetlands, we will continue to flood. Help me find a reasonable price. I live in the New Orleans North Shore area (important facts for estimates: Home sits on 14 ft. elevation, brick home,1800sqft AUR. We have a canal that runs behind our house that drains into Lake Pontchatrain.

A house wrap helps prevent outside water from entering walls and helps seal the entire home helping to keep inside air more comfortable.
