Say the statement balance is ~$600 but the current balance is $0 and so is the minimum payment for the next due date.

That means that you made payments or been issued refunds since the last statement date.
When viewing a credit card account online, once a payment has been posted that exceeds the minimum payment for the month, the minimum payment will show as $0 until the next statement. The current balance will be reduced by the amount of payment that you have made + any refunds/returns you have received.
