You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

My short answer would be get in the best physical, mental, and emotional shape you can possibly be in before you leave for camp Anaconda. There is nothing that will prepare you for the real thing except experience.
* Learn to watch out for your mental state. If you feel jumpy, you are probably already over the line.
* Learn to watch out for your team-mates. If you notice that they are tired, hungry, edgy, etc...then tell them. It will keep you all alive.
* Listen...turn off your iPods and really listen to the environment. If the locals stop chattering...something is up! Always be listening to the sounds in the environment.
* If something however minor attracts your attention, report it to your superiors. It could be an IED. or something worse.
