What do you think of the word "whatever?"

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

It's the most annoying response to me. I feel dismissed when people say it to me... Personally and professionally I'm all about good communication and this is used to shut down any kind of communication.

I do not like the word "Whatever!" I get upset when I tell something to someone and they answer "Whatever!" especially if the person using the word is a teenager. My sons are not allowed to use that word. My nephews cannot use it when they stay over.

I think that I do not like the word because, I feel that when someone says "Whatever!" they do not care about the topic of the conversation. When I hear adults saying "Whatever!" I feel they are immature and personally I think they do not have manners.

It's the new version of "agreeing to disagree" peppered with a little sarcasm and attitude. And if you don't like it... WHATEVER! :)
