What do you think of Rand Paul calling the Obama Administration "Un-American" for insisting BP be held accountable for the recent oil spill?
Do you think he has any association with BP? What motivation does he have to defend them? What do you think about the Obama Administration's actions?

I'll try to explain how Rand Paul sees the world, and how its different from most people. Rand Paul isn't a liberal or a conservative, he's a constitutionalist. Meaning, he believes that the U.S. federal government should only have the powers prescribed in Constitution. So when he says "un-American" he means the president is breaking the "American" rule book, the Constitution.
Most people think its OK to break the Constitution as long as its for a good reason.
-The Right Wing will break the constitution to fight wars, to fight terrorism, take away free speech for "unpatriotic" people (Flag burning for instance).
-Left wing likes to break the constitution to protect the environment, minorities, unions, etc.
So the idea of "Is it good for the president to fine BP" is a completely separate issue in Rand Paul's mind. He is concerned more that no where in the U.S. constitution does it give the President the authority to control and fine people for environmental damage, even with consent of Congress.
