What do you think is the most romantic movie that has been released?

Since the beginning of movies themselves, they have inspired, entertained and made us laugh. There have been so many great romantic movies, but which one do you think would have to take the place as the best romantic film of all time? When was this film released, and what was the name of it? Also what was it about this movie that made it the best?

The Notebook is my favorite romantic movie. The Notebook was directed by Nick Cassavetes and released in June of 2004. It is one of those movies that catches your attention early, and then keeps you interested. There was not a dry eye in my home when we watched it. We watch movies once a week in our house, it is rare a movie really stands out, as this movie did.

I will include a link below of the full summary.

This are all excellent answers and I agree with all of them. I think another good choice is the movie Sweet November. It wasn’t a big box office hit but it touched me in a way no other movie had.
It was directed by Pat O’Connor and starred Keanu Reeves as Nelson Moss and Charlize Theron as Sara Deever.
The first time I watched it I literally sobbed and it never fails to make me tear up. I won’t give away the whole plot but Sara has an incredible talent for changing men’s lives. She meets Nelson and he ends up living with her through the month of November. What happens changes both of their lives forever.

I have to say that any of the most romantic films I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching is from a Jane Austin novel. Because of her own tragic love story, she declared that all of her heroines would end up happy. So you can always count on anything from her as a romantic, love story.

Most of all by her, I loved ‘Mansfield Park’. Fanny Price is a girl who is born to a poor family, but goes to live with some wealthy relatives. She is a very bright and intelligent girl, with a mind of her own, but the family is always downing her. Expect of course for her cousin Edmund Bertram, who treats her very kindly. They end up falling in love, but are don’t think it will be possible for them to be together. The novel was published in July 1814. There has been more than one edition of this movie, but I liked the 1999 version best.

Another story that is very romantic is ‘Love Story1970, I didn’t pick it as my favorite, because it is just as equally, if no more sad. I won’t ruin the ending for anyone who hasn’t seen it, but this is most defiantly the saddest fiction movies ever, aside from maybe ‘Terms of Endearment’.

Both ‘Mansfield Park’ and ‘Love Story’ are about an intelligent, yet poor girl who is in love with someone who is wealthy, yet risk their claim to fame with the love.

When reading this question, Legends of the Fall immediately springs to mind for me.
As a guy, I'm not that much into romantic movies, but somehow this one got a hold of me. Maybe it's the war background, or the acting by both Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins, the conflict and friendship between the two brothers, the love triangle with Susannah (the excellent Julia Ormond), or the sad story being told, but that movie really 'stuck' with me.

"Casablanca" (1942) – an oldie and predictable answer, but what can I say? I totally buy Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart) and Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman) as lovers who cannot be together. I can feel their desire for both each other & to do the right thing, given their war and love-triangle situations. I believe in their relationship, and the pain it causes them to separate.

There's something highly romantic about love denied, particularly for a great cause. The film portrays a self-sacrificing love that brings out the best in people, even as it causes personal heartache. I find something very romantic in that, more romantic than those found in standard Hollywood happy endings.

And who doesn't appreciate the emotion behind lines like, "Kiss me as if it were the last time" and "Where I'm going, you can't follow. What I've got to do, you can't be any part of. Ilsa, I'm no good at being noble, but it doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Someday you'll understand that."

So, my vote goes to a predictable answer. But I'd argue there's a reason that "Casablanca" tops so many people's lists for romantic film. It's just that good.

To me it was none other than the movie The last song. it was pretty good with the plot and most i am impressed with the act of Miley Cyrus what makes it more fantastic with her act. her fans did wait on for it and me too saw it online.
