Gizmo5 was purchased by google. And is slated to be intergrated into Google Voice somehow. Since Goolge has an unlimited budget and a fantastic backbone I'd put my money on that.
Skype is fantastic and has a huge following but its up in the air do to legal issues surrounding the Intellectual Property and design issues and who owns what.
