What do you think is more important for kids to learn in school: Physical education or music?

Physical education typically gets more funding, and with the obesity problems of the U.S., it's hard to argue against its importance. But is music more important still?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I think Music is important, but I do not think it is nearly as important as Physical Education. People do not really need to study Music or Physical Education, but it seems to me that more and more people cannot live without Physical Education. Without Music Education, people will live on. If people really need music in their lives, people will be musical without any education. They will enjoy music or produce music if they need to. It should have been the same with Physical Education. But without PE, I think a lot of people would become like the human beings in the Pixar movie Wall-E.

What a devil's questions! Would that we didn't have to choose between the two. Some kids are better at sports, although even those who are poor at them can use the exercise. Some kids are poor in music, although even those can benefit from using both halves of their brain! If I HAD to choose, I would say music is more important, ONLY because it is the one less likely to happen if funds are cut. Kids can go to the park on their own or join an after school league, music is something less parents can afford to supplement on their own

Phys ed. Their health will be with them the rest of their lives. They can pick up music at any time. I actually think music should start at home before school even starts.

Pe should be taught in public school .Music should be taught in the private sector and paid for by parents.
