Trust is next - you have to be able to trust your spouse to do the right thing in any given situation. If you don't trust the other person, the relationship is doomed (trust me on this one - no pun intended.)
Patience is the final key but no less critical than the rest. You may do something one way and your spouse may do the same thing completely differently. That doesn't mean it's wrong, it just means that's how they do it! People are all different and I think we'd all be better off with a little more patience regardlss of relationship status!
