Maybe.... *looks it up* Apparently while Holland is most famous for them.. Denmark does produce wooden shoes as well.. so I wasn't entirely off though i think I am mixing Denmark and Sweden in my head.
Let's just say all Scandinavian countries rock and leave it at that.

M$I think of Peter Larkin he was from Denmark and my Niece had him as a pen pal for a long time and talked me into sponsoring him and allowing him to come and live with me for a year while he studied here in the United States.
His father owned some sort of factory there and I really enjoyed his company and my niece was thrilled and made a lifetime friend. I learned a lot from him about your country in that year. I haven't spoken to him in 10 years now but that is what I think of.

That's funny... when I see drmatt's grey elephants, then albanian's green elephant, it makes me think about pink elephants.
Pink Elephants are Belgian, not Danish, @bunnyphuphu
I think of Panda Elephants.

M$I hadn't heard of her either, it appears she is essentially a British comedienne who was born in Denmark.
Haha it is funny, I have actually never heard the name Sandi Toksvig. But maybe it is just me.
She started off doing a saturday morning children's TV program in the 1980s called number 73 in which she hosted it as a character called Ethel.
Since then she's actually been quite proud of her Danish nationality. She hosts a program on BBC Radio 4 called The News Quiz which is the British equivalent of 'Wait Wait don't tell me' in America of NPR. She's recently made a point of trying to include Danish stories or references wherever possible.
