The saddest thing is how much time women spend worrying about their bodies. If we could harness this energy and unfortunate angst, think of the happiness and things would accomplish! Being overweight or obese might cause health problems but accepting and loving your body just the way it is brings mental wellness and does not preclude you from exercising a little more and eating a little less if that is goal. Because that is all it really takes, a hundred calories less in food and a hundred calories more in exercise and you would see a difference. It is shift and lifetime commitment, diets don't work!
If you feel good about yourself you actually will eat less. How many times have you eaten in despair because you felt fat? Do you find yourself saying, “To hell with it, I am fat already, I am going to eat!” I know I am not alone here.
It is about acceptance. We live in a world where high- fat, large portions of food are literally shoved down our throats and this is juxtaposed with all these images of "super thin" beauty. It is a set-up for depression.
It always s amazes me that we get so excited seeing a beautiful women naked with a perfect body that does not look like a concentration victim. Here is to you Lizzie, thanks for taking off your clothes! And all the other women out there just love your body!

This woman is not fat but healthy. Her height and weight are within (although at the high end) of the recommended guidelines given by all the health magazines.
The current standards of models overuse very thin women who are below a healthy weight. It would be better if more models were healthy examples. However, it makes a difference what they are or are not wearing. Nude models are already much less skinny than clothing models, which is a good thing.
But the recent attempts to put a positive spin on being overweight are entirely misguided. Obesity is a major epidemic with major public health consequences. There are far, far more obese women that anorexic ones. Anorexia is about one in 200, or 1/2 of one percent. The obesity rate is more than 31% and rising! Avoiding anorexia should not be reason to excuse obesity.
It would be best if most models were within the weight guidelines of the various scientific and medical health organizations.

M$I’m not attacking naturally thin women-I agree beauty comes in many shapes and sizes. But being extremely underweight, as is my mother and most models, is distressing and shouldn’t be promoted as the ideal.
I hope this is the beginning of a trend. That model looks beautiful and there’s not a reason in the world why she needs to lose any weight. Six feet tall and 180 lbs? That’s great!
