Web search is decent. In terms of result quality I'd place it ahead of Yahoo!, a close second to Google. The advanced search is nicely implemented -- refining a search is a much more intuitive process than with Google -- you can narrow results further by keyword, language, site and country.
Image search is actually better than anything I've seen before. They've foregone pagination and in place have an infinite scrolling concept -- as you scroll down the page more results appear. You can choose a smaller thumbnail size and have many more results visible than Google. And finally they have some really smart filters -- searching for people? show pictures that are face only, head and shoulders, or 'other'.
Obviously the real question is how do they market this effectively. And effective it will need to be -- habits are hard to break after all. This is probably why it has been reported that Microsoft are going to spend $80 - $100 million dollars on a launch campaign.

M$So while Bing may even be superior (subject to debate) I don't see it overtaking Google anytime soon - or even presenting any real challenge.
