What do you think about Lil Wayne making a rock record?

Lil Wayne's next album, Rebirth, is going to be a full on rock record with loud guitars, big drums and vocals sung, not rapped. The songs Hot Revolver and Prom Queen have already been leaked to the net.

If Kanye can put out a soul record about his breakup, I think Weezy is allowed to try something new as well.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I personally think its awesome... He is the kind of person to switch and make it work. I cant wait, and his song with Kevin Rudolph "Let it Rock" is really good. So Im looking forward to it.

I love it when rock/rap mixes. It sounds really good together.

I love it when big artists switch gears to try something new and experimental, and I think that Lil Wayne definitely has what it takes to make a decent Rock record. He has already collaborated with a number of rock artists (including Fall Out Boy), so he's probably learned a few tricks from them.

That being said, I'm still not convinced that his new album will be totally Rock. From what I've heard him say in interviews, he sounded like he was just joking about it being completely Rock. Do you have a source?
