What do you say when your feet feel numb and tickling? This happens when you kneel down for a long time. I can't find the right word.

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The common name for such a sensation is that part of your body "asleep" (for example "Oh man, my foot fell asleep.") You get the feeling when pressure's been applied to certain nerves/veins that cut off blood flow to those parts of your body. Some people might feel it for other reasons (a medical condition), the super scientific term then would be paresthesia.

I always called it "pins and needles".

This also happens when short people's feet can't reach the floor from their couch. I have plenty experience in this! My feet fall "asleep" all the time!
