What do you prefer when you watch a movie? Popcorn? Or Chips? Or What? What flavour?

Ok…A small idea came up…So…here is a chance for all of you to earn some points…And some money…not much...But I’m doing my best!
So…everyday I’ll ask 2 questions. Nothing major, no mathematics, no sciences, no nothing…
I’ll just ask about yourself, because I think this is a great community and I want to know more about you (I’m from Europe!)
Therefore I’ll ask questions about everything and anything.
I don’t care about belts and I’ll vote BA’s without counting that!
And today’s question is…

What do you prefer when you watch a movie? Popcorn? Or Chips? Or What? What flavour?

Thanks

If I had to choose between the buttery goodness of popcorn or chips.... popcorn!

But my preferred movie food are Red Vines. Just by the feel of the package, I can tell how fresh they are... Mmmmm...

Hah interesting!

For me it depends on what type of movie I am watching.
Now if I have popcorn while watching a horror movie that is not a good idea. I have the tendency to jump...a lot...during those kind of movies which always means the popcorn goes flying EVERYWHERE....There is a reason I don't buy popcorn and go to the theaters....People behind me are sick of leaving with my flung popcorn in their hair/purses/laps whatever. (Kind of like this guy)
http://blogs.voices.com/voxdaily/couple-scared-popcorn.jpg

Now when I go see a comedy movie...I normally don't get a drink...I've been known...on occasion to be drinking and something funny happens and the person in front of me is no longer happy...and their hair just might be covered in soda...:-D

Other then that I normally have some chips to munch on, preferably something super cheesy but a chip is a chip and when I get into a movie what I'm eating hardly phases me.

I'm also a sucker for sweets while I'm watching a movie, especially if I go to the theater I have to have candy....the only downside of me getting candy is I can't open it quietly so I open it before hand and by the time the movie starts it's all gone...:(

So yeah...just about anything goes good with a movie...and now I'm wanting candy! Thanks @vladis !

Good question :)

When I went and saw "SAW" when it first hit theaters, I pratically beat the crap out of my cousin. After that they'd never go to another horror movie with me again. >.<

I jump quite a bit during horror movies, which is exactly why i don't eat popcorn during them. LOL I also have the habbit of hitting people when I'm scared. >.<

I just get scared and hide behind whoever I'm with...However! If I am with someone who purposely tries to scare me during a horror movie then I might hit, not hard, kind of a playful hit and I may get 'mad' at them and pout lol

lol
Speaking of jumping it reminded me of a very sad...yet funny story at my own expense...
I went and saw Finding Nemo in theaters...and the part when the shark is like 'Here's Brucey" It caught me off guard and I jumped...and the little kids were laughing at me :(
Talk about embarrassing!

Personally, if I'm at the movie theaters I generally grab a box of Butterfinger Minis. Popcorn is great, but it's just not my favorite in the theater.

I don't got to the movies too often though. Usually when I'm watching a movie, I'm at home, so I snack on anything. At home, ironically, I love to munch on popcorn (light butter only!) - though I think chips wins out in the end.

If I actually do decided to get a snack during a movie, it'd be one of these two things...

1) Popcorn. I'm really not a chip person.(plus popcorn is just classic movie munchies) Infact, Popcorn has been my snack of choice lately, lol. weird cravings...

2) Gummy Bears! Because Gummy bears rock in every situation. :D

The Best thing about going to the movies in the states is the huge amount of great junk food to choose from, sure it costs a fortune- sometimes you end up paying more for movie snacks than the price of your ticket, but it is always worth it (once in a while, heartburn aside of course)

In Japan, the popcorn is either sweet or over buttered (yuck and double yuck) in the UK it is all sweet (its not only kids that go to movies is it?) When I first came to Japan, there wasn't even popcorn so I shouldn't complain (they are usually a very polite audience and don't like to make too much noise while watching a movie)

But in the old US of A: gotta have :
* Fake cheese dripping nacho chips
* Popcorn piled high (ooooh yes the salty kind)
* Red vines and jujubees
* Ice-cream- love it when the ice-cream seller comes into the theatre once youre already settled in
* Giant drink (diet coke of course to balance all the fat content out)
* Butterfinger, Bite sized snickers or other chocolate fix

But really all the packaging really should be a bit quieter- see the MYMHM Youtube video below

Chips? People eat chips at the movies? Do they even sell chips at the movies, besides for nachos?

I don't eat popcorn, as I can't stand picking kernals out of my teeth for hours. I'm a nacho kind of gal, that and/or Junior Mints!

I"m a popcorn kind of gal and usually with butter and a pop. But there are times when I love getting some goobers or chocolate covered peanuts and putting them into my popcorn. Sounds kind of gross but the chocolate melts and it's a nice combo of sweet and salty. I don't do this all the time but it's quite tasty!

I like chips more than popcorn. Popcorn tends to be a little soggy after some time but chips will stay crispy for a long time. There are many choices for chips unlike popcorn you are limited to just a few choices and flavor. Its not that I don't like popcorn, its nice to eat popcorn once in a while even while watching dvds at home.

I am in love with a LARGE popcorn with extra budder and Reeces Pieces, great combo, salty and sweet... I will say this to...many of us know that it is best to sneak in most of your snacking treats (obviously popcorn would be bad)...but ladies with purses and men with satchels/man-bag, you know this. You can pay almost $3 for a mid-size box of candy, which would cost you $1.25 or so at the market a block from or adjacent to the theater. I have no prob buying a $10 movie ticket and $4 popcorn, but allow me to feel I am getting some sort of deal on the candy....I enjoy the movie a little more knowing that I pursued other purchasing options.

Real Chunky's Cinema and Pub Burger!!

I don't like to be limited to the usual theater fare for snacks and treats at the movies...

I need more.
I like to watch a movie at a theater and be able to have a sandwich, an appetizer, a juicy cheeseburger, a hot meal, snacks of every sort and a wide variety of beverage choices from milkshakes and malts to root beer floats and alcoholic beverages if you want them. .. oh yes I can't forget the "Chamber of Sweets" for dessert selections.

Here is the full menu

At a theater in my neighborhood I can do just that too and all from the comfort of a reclining seat that is an exact functional and comfort duplicate of the seats in a Lincoln Town Car. These are extra comfortable seats!

Chunky's Cinema and Pub has all the fist run movies and a full lunch/dinner/appetizer menu with real servers bringing us our food and drinks throughout the movie just like in a restaurant.

I am definately a popcorn person, either at home or at the movies, the more butter the better, lots of salt, well stirred. At home I like the movie theater butter Pop Secret brand. Sometimes I really do wait until the kids go to bed so I can eat the whole bowl and watch a movie that causes a few more neurons to work than Dora the Explorer.

I am known to do the MM's and popcorn for the salty sweet affect. But I have to be in the right mood for that with the perfect movie.

Popcorn for sure. I don't care for chips. Buttered popcorn it is. A movie without popcorn means something is missing...they kind of just go together
