What do you do for a living? I'm intrigued. Don't just give me your job title, tell me what you actually do.

I noticed that a lot of people on here seem to be on a lot! Do you guys even have jobs or what? Mahalo staff can certainly answer this question if they want to say something other than "I work for Mahalo".

To answer my own question, I run a couple of clothing companies and spend at least half my day on the computer. Answering Mahalo questions is a nice background thing to keep me occupied. I love to multi-task and I type very fast so it's something fun to help fill my day.
Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I am in my final year of law school (informally specializing in intellectual property).
I work part time at a real estate law firm that specializes in foreclosures so that keeps me very busy.

I've had many other jobs in the past and so I tend to answer a pretty broad range of topics here. (I used to drive an ambulance, did research at a materials science and engineering lab, worked in food service, worked at a tech company, and more.)

I manage a group of app and report developers. The reason I've been online so much in the past week is because we don't move any changes into production (unless to fix a defect) after the 2nd Friday in December each year. After the January 5th, I'll be online much less.

I'm a guide lead at Mahalo. My primary duties are to oversee the editorial process at Mahalo which includes checking the writing of in-house and freelance workers on Mahalo search results, as well as scheduling and checking over the quality of the updates on the homepage and the liveblog.

I also spend a good part of my day managing Mahalo Answers. We check every question, answer and comment submitted to the system and get rid of anything that is inappropriate or spam.

Freelance writing for Mahalo sounds like a cool job. Can anyone apply or does Mahalo find their own writers?

I have a couple of irons in the fire. Just launched a new clothing line called MommaWear (organic cotton tees with unique Swarovski crystal designs) and a separate company called Riviera Digital Video that handles DVD duplication & replication, DVD authoring and video editing.

I use Mahalo as a good way of winding down after a hectic day. sometimes I just need to take a break - but for me that usually still means I'm sitting at the computer.

If you need help learning about the manufacturing process, let me know. I have a company called Painless Apparel that helps manufacturers move their work to Mexican factories. I'm an expert in the apparel manufacturing industry.

I'm a junior in college. I'm on here 24/7 because I'm on winter break. However, I will slowly disappear when the Spring semester starts. Unfortunate, but school is the first priority. I'm double majoring in Film Studies and English.

I'm a remote guide at Mahalo. My primary responsibilities (currently) are to work with the part-time guides in the greenhouse, helping to get their pages accepted to Mahalo. This involves editing their work, fact checking, and providing feedback and guidance.

I also build and update pages as requested by lead guides.

I teach English as a second language to senior high school students in Taiwan. I also write and edit teaching materials.

That's great. I haven't been to Taiwan since I was a little boy.

Some people do travel and teach English. I'm actually a long-term resident here. I've been living and teaching in Taiwan for most of my adult life - 15 years and counting!

I am independently wealthy through my grandmother's side. For real, I was running a start-up non-profit until yesterday. I will be starting a new non-profit in the new year. My title is usually in the Director or Vice President range.

Teach college online, do some writing and consulting on the side. Right now I'm grading papers...unfortunately, its a large class and the topic is the same for every paper so need a mental lift to distract between each paper. This is the perfect solution.

I am a start-up consultant. People come to me with business ideas and I help them develop the ideas into good business models with strong revenue models. I help them plan the business and I write the business plan. Then we start on preparing for funding. I help them with their Friends & Family Round or if appropriate we go out for funding from private capital and angel groups. My clients usually like to keep me around as a Corporate Advisor or Investor Relations Advisor. Sometimes I help them expand their companies or build new subsidiaries.
