What do you call a member of the Mahalo community? A Mahalolian? A Mahaloite?

Just for fun.
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The correct term would be a Mahaloian. An -ite would be a "resident" and since we can't actually live in Mahalo, as nice as that might be, we would be Mahaloians (drop the second L). -ian means belonging to

So would we pronounce this Ma-ha-lo-ian ?
Trying to figure out which syllable to put the stress on!
I like it though!

Ha! the more I say it, the more it sounds like Ma-halloween!

cuds1's Avatar

That's how I would think it would be pronounced.

Mahalo-ee-an

lol... I just thought the same thing after I started to say it. Maybe we put little emphasis on the i... hmmm...

Mahalo-en...

I think you just have put the stress on the 'lo' part, as in Maha-LO-ian and it works pretty well.
So many good suggestions to choose from, but this probably has to be the best! Thanks!

I think Mahalan sounds right.

That's what I'd expect if Mahalo was a country.
(Unless you're after something to twist the tongue and get laughs .. then I'd go for Mahalolilian.) :)

What about "The Mahaloati", no individual member references, just the collective community...

"You are now part of The Mahaloati..."

or

"...for the greater good of The Mahaloati.."

It should be "Mahalo Nui's". While Mahalo is Hawaiian for Thanks, Mahalo Nui Loa is Hawaiian for Many Thanks or Thank You very Much. When spoken, it is generally abbreviated "Mahalo Nui".

A Mahalolian i choose to answer your question.

i keep the name mahalons or mahalon or mahaloian ( i think it will be better)

because you should not change the original word of this website mahalo so you should introduce word outside that word. so i choosed the above words.

question asker following the rules not others.
