That would be the movie Tristan & Isolde.
Tristan & Isolde is set in Britain and Ireland, in the Early Middle Ages, after the fall of the Roman Empire in the 5th century.
The tragic story is of the adulterous love between the Cornish knight Tristan (Tristram) and the Irish princess Iseult (Isolde, Yseult, etc.). The narrative predates and most likely influenced the Arthurian romance of Lancelot and Guinevere.
The tale predates Malory’s Le Morte d’Arthur, which made Tristan a knight of the Round Table and transferred the love triangle from Tristan, Isolde and Marke to Lancelot, Guinevere and Arthur.
This was a project for director Ridley Scott back in the late ‘70s, but he put it aside to direct 1979’s Alien. He never picked it back up, so he gave the reins over to Kevin Reynolds. Tristan & Isolde may have been a dream project for Scott, but Reynolds, Franco, and Myles messed it up.
