What do the bomb detecting police robots look like?

I have always been curious...how do these bomb sniffing robots look? Do they have a little camera on them so a human can navigate them from the outside?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Foster-Miller's TALON family of robots has been used in military and police operations for over a decade. One of the functions of these robots is to diffuse or detonate bombs, whether it's IED's in Iraq or pipe bombs in the US. These robots are also used for surveillance and search and rescue operations.

These robots are controlled via a wireless control system, and have on-board cameras and sensors to allow the operator to see from the robot's point of view. There are several varieties of configurations for TALON, and some can even be armed.

TALON has been used a lot in Iraq and Afghanistan, and worked extensively at the World Trade Center site after 9/11 looking for survivors in the wreckage.

You can check out a few of the bomb robots from google image search:

Also, here's an article on law enforcement robots:

Usually there's a small camera which allows the user to control the robot and see what it sees from a safe distance. There's also usually some sort of robotic arm that allows the user to open up suspicious packages and do other various things.
