Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

"They are often described as ugly or having beastly features like tusks or cyclopic eyes."

I would have to say a vile creature that lurks in the shadows with a laptop praying on innocent and well established websites where it is user generated.

I imagine they look like this.

I've not heard of any being captured alive as of yet.
The evidence indicates that these creatures are extremely clever about camouflaging their lairs and are periodically sighted at the mini markets around 4am buying pizza by the slice and energy drinks.
I did manage to spot and photograph what appears to be a young one who had not yet morphed into the full version.
Obviously the warning signs are evident in the photo that this is a troll in the early caterpillar stage of growth.

I found this posting (the one linked) about a week ago, and I really got a good laugh. There are people that I have met online that fit into the categories that are mentioned. I remember thinking that the author of the article had really gone above normal expectation with the number of categories included.

I, though, can't think about forum or net trolls without thinking of one popular troll:

Looks like me.. on a bad chat day >:) . I enjoy trolling... The trolls >:) I like to mess with their heads and wear them out so they leave the chat sooner. Being a former chatroom host helped me become familiar with how to wear down trolls fast to get them to leave without having to use the admin boot or expel tools. :)

They are big and creepy with yellow eyes and teeth and big furry bellies. They all have hair on their chest. Even the females! They dress in band tshirts and all have artsy framed townie glasses such as the kind that you see on Rivers Cuomo from Weezer. Their breath consistently reeks of stale cheest puffs.
I have this "insider info" because of a forum troll roommate I had in college, where I familiarized myself with the inner workings of their covert society.

When a troll become persistent and personal, you may need to consider the possibility that it has fermented into an Internet Stalker - equally pathetic, ...

Hi @bunnyphuphu,
20 minutes ago • Afroza was awarded the "Counselor" badge.
But this is not visible in my profile or with my name like you consists of 12 badges. What may be the reason?

Never fear @afroza dear... the badges are still new and little buggy.
When I get a new badge, sometimes it takes about 24 hours to show up under my profile picture. Have a little patience and if it's not showing by tomorrow, just pop an email over to: contact(at)mahalo(dot)com, and they'll get you fixed!

I think besides Sheldon and friends from Big Bang Theory.

They like to disguise themselves, and pretend to be h***y girls (and sometimes guys) trying to get anyone and everyone into their chat room!----- Dont do it!!! They do magic acts and your money will go *POOF!*

They also tend to look like old hairy guys that like to try to talk to younger girls and try to get with them .

They are also lonely nerds in their moms homes in their basement rooms.

But their original form is those funky little treasure trolls that we used to get as kids -u know, the (fake) diamond in the belly button, and crazy pink hair. Yea. Those are them.

If you see them, tell them the troll hunter is looking for them! :D

As was pointed out in The Hobbit, some trolls (among the worst) have two heads. I am confident that Internet trolls are the kind with two heads.

Also, the long noses are likely, especially for those trolls who are hunt and peck typists.

I think internet trolls come in 2 flavors:

1. Someone who has nothing going for him but his words and

2. Very young person who runs his mouth without thinking

I have basically been both early on in my internet "career," but now I am neither.

I think trolls in real life might actually be really good looking people, who by the way, act like trolls offline too. Probably insecure about their looks or something and hence, the trolling. :P
