what do i have to major in college to get a job at a hedge fund?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The short answer I will give you is a business degree with a concentration in finance. I have a business administration-management degree. If I found the right internships and/or job that would give the right experience in hedge funding, I could compete for those opportunities. Whatever the degree, I would say it would have to be based in business or economics to give a good foundation in hedge funding.

Finance and Economics would help, but really any Business major is fine... With they exceptions of specialized majors, you major is college often is not the field of work you will be in after you graduate.
