What do I have to do to get .MOV files to render better within Premiere? I can work fast with any other format but .mov

I can work with various other formats and be just fine, but .MOV files just brings my computer to a screeching halt and makes it impossible to work with. My Kodak Zi6 only records in .MOV files so I'm stuck in this situation.
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

.MOV is a quicktime format and pretty CPU intensive to process.

Easiest suggestion: convert the MOV files to another format you can use better before manipulating.

I really like AnyVideo It's Free.
