Bed bug bites are often no more than little red bumps, similar to mosquito bites. A good indicator though is the pattern of the bites. Depending on the person's skin color, it make take on a different appearance that the usual one. Each individual may have different reaction to bed bug bites. The symptoms may not appear right after the bite, but can appear up to nine days after the initial bed bug bite.

If you suspect that you were bitten by bed bugs, you should search areas in your home to determine if you do have them. The best places to look for bed bugs are in the mattress crevices, under the headboards, and the box spring. They are reddish brown, oval and flat, about the size of an apple seed.

Fortunately, it has been established that bed bug bites don't result in some other health problems. The most extreme it may get can be a minor allergy, however it doesn’t contain unwanted effects to the overall health and they don’t transfer infections.Once you notice the bedbug bites you must see your health care provider to find the proper treatment for it. Do not scratch these types of bites for the reason that extreme scratching can bring about an infection. The bedbug bites act like mosquito bites, but they're much more circular on top and are generally much more itchy and even very painful.
