It's not the best bank robbery movie I have ever seen... but it's not bad at all. I'd give it a 6.5 or 7 out of 10. Ben Affleck is a natural anytime he's in or around Boston. The cast is great... especially John Hamm from Mad Men who plays an FBI agent.
Story line is a bit cliche. Ben's character is a crook with a Dad in the slammer for life. This bank job is supposed to be his last one, but he falls in love with a hostage who never saw him.
I don't want to say much else and spoil the story, but there's a decent amount of bang bang action and some car chases too. I've never been to Boston, but I liked the filming at Fenway Park. This movie has a complex enough plot to keep you on your toes.
See you at the movies.

I ALWAYS try to get the matinee prices at least. If you have cheaper theaters in town where the price gets even lower in a few weeks or a month ... you might want to wait.
If you want to see a decent action plot with a good story (remember that Ben put his pen to this story... and I like his writing even more than his face) go ahead and see it now, but go to the matinee!
* I will pay for your ticket if for some reason you hate the movie!
Thank you for the offer to refund the price of my ticket Phu but I trust your movie reviews and a matinée at my local theater only costs $5.75 so it is easy to dismiss the cost of seeing a bad flick so if "The Town" is worth the 5.75 that's great and if not well.. if Affleck can't make a movie that is worth half a ten then it is time to hang it up. :)
I have been on the fence about going to see The Town in the theater PhuPhu so should I "see you at the movies" or should I wait for a less expensive viewing opportunity?
