What did the prehistoric inhabinants of Maine eat?

I am doin a social studies project and need to know what they ate. The foods that they ate have to be proven with archaeological evidence.

The one prehistoric site that I know of in Maine is the Vail site. The dietary information that we can gather on this era of man is really based on the tools that they used and the biological residue that remains on the tools. Tools have been found at this site that lead to the belief that Paleo Indians hunted caribou in this region. Broken caribou bones have been found in the same spot as some Clovis tools.

There is also evidence that suggests that prehistoric man hunted tortoise in Maine.

''The tortoise seems to have been killed as early as 10,000B.C. A probable kill site was found in western Maine in 1980, when part of the bed of artificial Azischos Lake was exposed.'' (Fiedel p.65)
