What did the Chinese contribute to the evolution of modern warfare?

The obvious one is gunpowder, which eventually took the warfare of the rest of the world beyond the powerful but much training needed longbow into the hybrid arquebus and toward guns, bombs, and modern projectile weaponry.
You could also make an arguement that the ancient book the art of war (by Sun Tzu) influenced modern concepts of war (and business!) Generally it codified the ideas of plotting, planning and using your advantages in location. Most ancient peoples used these these concepts, but the Chinese had the books that survived.
