what did Mao Zedong do for china that was good?

Mao Zedong's was the one responsible for the unification of China which was at the verge of falling apart when he became the leader. He created the unified Republic of China and became the leader of the greatest social revolution in history. This involved taking most land and property, he abolished landlord class, weakening the middle class and raising the status of peasant and industrial workers.

...well, that without counting the millions a millions that died from starvation, famine, internal exile, destruction of towns, relocation of large parts of the population, experiencing some of the worst floods in the histoty of China that killed more millions during the late 40´s the 50´and 60´s... and last but not least, the "Cultural Revolution", nothing else than a monumental plan for the decapitation an removal of the rich Chinese cultural heritage... all hiden from the eyes of the free world between 1965 to 1968....

quite not so good, eh?
