What demons do you have to cope with?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Anger, mostly. It's all mine, but I am still learning to take responsibility for it. Most of our problems are really our own, but it's so easy to externalize them. That feeds them, I think. We tell ourselves "everything would be fine, except for External Thing," but we can't control that thing, so we just stew about it. We forget that we can control our own thoughts and feelings, and our internal world is entirely at our disposal.

I am learning to own my anger, and to let it go. It's very, very difficult, but I need to accept that if I don't let it go, or can't let it go, it will eventually destroy the things that are important to me (my relationships with loved ones).

My demons right now are depression and loneliness. Since it's the first time in my life that I am living alone, it is very difficult for me to concentrate on my work with those demons on my shoulder. It is so hard to be alone and I hate it, but I know I deserve it for what I did so I just have to cope-one way or another.

Not having any self esteem or confidence in myself. I was told for years, first by my mother and then my first husband, how worthless I was and it takes a toll. I got myself out of the situation though and not many women do. When I get down on myself I remind myself of that fact and the fact that raised some pretty good kids despite the situation we were all in.
