What cruise line or cruise ship is most kid and family friendly?

We are considering a cruise that would be able to provide entertainment for smaller children. Perhaps one that is kid and family oriented. We do not want the kids to miserable on the cruise, or cause misery to any other guest. Which cruise line and/or ship would most likely provide this for an enjoyable vacation for us all?

There will be 2 senior citizens, 4 adults in their 30's, and 4 children from ages 5 to 9, plus 1 toddler age 2. So it will need to offer creditable babysitting for the 2 year old.

The destination is of some importance, we want to go somewhere in the Carribean but not necessarily The Bahamas. We heard that Cozumel Island is very nice. However, we are open to other suggestions.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Oh I see somebody has already answered this way, but what came to mind immediately upon reading your question was the Disney Cruise line. This cruise line offers cruises to various destinations, including the Caribbean, the Bahamas, the Mexican Riviera, and it is even available for European and Alaskan cruises. Most cruises last anywhere from 3 nights to 14 nights and the grand ocean liners are packed with Disney-style activities and entertainment. Families with children would love this cruise, since many of the beloved Disney characters will be available to view and interact with during the trip and children are certain to be amazed by the different types of youth clubs available on the line, which include anything from activity centers for teens to daytime nurseries for the littlest travelers. The liner even has a night club that invites both parents and their children to come and dance the night away with their favorite characters. Parents can also take some time for themselves and enjoy the luxuries of spas and fitness facilities available. The Disney cruise line is definitely designed to complement the entire family and if I were looking for a cruise vacation, I would certainly keep this option in mind, given that I have two boys of my own who would likely be in heaven hearing about the many props this cruise line has to offer.

The Disney cruise line has everything for the family and the children.
Not only will you be cruising to different ports of call, you will be able to enjoy the pool on board as well as many sports activities while on the ship. Tours and adventures off the ship on the ports of call will be available as well.
No need to bring cribs or worry about activities for the children. Disney cruise lines have made everything based on the family. There are areas for children of all ages from 12 weeks to 3 years. Then progressively older activities up through seventeen years of age. There are adult only areas where you can be with other adults listening to music and dancing at the night club or having a treatment at a spa. Then there are activities for the family to do together. So they really get my vote as the most family friendly cruise line.
