What cool stuff can you do with a Jailbroken iPad?
I'm ready to jailbreak my iPad. I'm not worried about the technical details of jailbreaking, I'm wondering what are the 'killer ipad apps' for a jailbroken ipad? What are the really cool ipad apps that Apple would never allow in the iTunes store? Can you get shell access and do unixey kind of stuff like installing apache and mysql? What jailbroken iPad apps will totally blow my mind?
Also, I'm assuming this is reversible right? When apple releases OS 4.0 I'm assuming I can just do a factory restore and go back to a non-jailbroken, upgradable iPad?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

It's great because you can now use your iPad as a window.
Another app that's really great is the camera app.

Or, I also like the Guinnesss Book of World Records App.

Arguably I'm a little bias :)

M$Then install Installous using cydia (this enables you to get, usually very expensive apps, for FREE) 100% Guaranteed.

Fullforce will format apps from the iPhone to look properly on your iPad without zoom distortion. How can you not want this??
For reference i found this list of what works and what doesn't work for a jailbroken(?) iPad. Might want to look at this before you go on a buying spree:

(and its editable!!)
and about your other question, yes jailbreaking is reversible as shown in this mac forums topic:

"Just restore the original firmware and it's back to factory default. "
There's also the jailbreak iPad Mouse app.

Also here's some sites with reasons why you should jailbreak and how:

M$I think that editable "what works and what doesn't list" would be the most useful actually. Hope the other resources help out too.
Those are some great resources. The full force application doesn't sound that cool but watching the video... Very cool! I had a look through the forums on one of your links, and it sounds like there really isn't a lot of stuff that works on the iPad yet. However, I am looking forward to being able to run two programs at once!
you're mostly looking for out of the ordinary stuff?
I think you may have mis-read the question. I am looking for cool stuff for a jail-broken iPad not stuff from the iTunes store. Frankly, Apps like the ones you linked to are why I want to jailbreak my iPad.
Let me quote myself: " What jailbroken iPad apps will totally blow my mind? "
