What change in your diet has led to the positive change in your body?

Assuming you're already active, but it's not enough to get rid of the extra few pounds... what particular change in diet do you recommend?
Tip for best answer: M$2.00

Drink water. Do not drink alot of soft drinks unless you are use to drinking them only drink them whenever you are in need to caffine. For every soft drink you drink next time your thirsty drink an equavilent amount of water. You will shed pounds quick =]]

ps.. if you are like me and cant stand the taste of water add crystal light it is just like 5 calories but you still get all the water needs.

Overall, eating more plant based foods and less processed and animal based foods. My biggest downfall is the processed foods category.

I tried the Dr. Oz recommendation of eating a piece of whole grain bread with a bit of olive oil before sitting down to a meal, takes the edge off. Unfortunately I keep my bread in the freezer, so I do have to plan this activity.

I'm currently focused on putting more Superfoods in my shopping cart. I started today with Blueberries, Kiwi, yogurt and Wheat Germ. According to the WolframAlpha analysis I'm off to a good start on my day.

My energy level is more consist when I eat the good stuff in place of the processed stuff. Over time, my skin looks better too. Eventually the weight comes off.

Cutting down on carbohydrates are extremely important to losing weight. You should try to have less than 250g of carbohydrates a day. It is also important to cut down on Saturated Fat and Trans Fat. You should not have more than about 20-25 grams of Saturated Fat a day and should try to eat foods that do not have any Trans Fat whatsoever. Lowering the intake of Carbohydrates and Saturated Fat will lower your Caloric intake and allow you to lose weight at a very good pace. Make sure to keep your Caloric intake around 2,000 Calories or less per day and try to exercise 15-30 minutes per day and you will see amazing results. If you want to gain muscle, make sure to eat about 40-50 grams of protein per day so you can rebuild the muscle that you tear down by working out. Foods that I recommend to eat that have almost no carbohydrates and no saturated fat are chicken, tuna fish, turkey, ham...pretty much any meat product except for High fat Beef. They are not only extremely low in Carbohydrates, Saturated Fat, and of course Calories but they are also very high in Protein. Vegetables are also extremely good for you, giving you important nutrients while having very few carbohydrates and little to no saturated fat. Make sure to stay away from foods that are high in Carbohydrates (especially foods that are high in sugar) such as Soft drinks, Pasta, Rice, and Bread. Also try to stay away from foods that are high in saturated fat such as Butter, Cheese, Whole Milk and Ice Cream. I still eat certain foods that I love but I make sure to get the reduced fat type of each food. I get Baked potato chips rather than the fried chips, I buy 1% Milk rather than Whole Milk, Cheese made with 2% milk rather than Whole Milk, and Reduced Fat Ice Cream rather than the regular Ice Cream. I think they taste just as good as the regular versions of these products and you will be amazed at how much weight you will lose. Lastly, of course drinking water will help fill you up without giving you any calories so drinking 5-8 cups of water a day will help supplement your weight loss. You should be able to lose about 3-4 pounds per week if you follow these guidelines. I went from 235 pounds to 190 pounds in about 3 months I hope that this was helpful. Take care.

I started to drink lots of water more than a year ago (about 3liters/day) and I've noticed great changes in my body. I used to be obese - I only stand 5ft 4in tall and I used to weigh over 90kg but now I am only 58kg. I also have high cholesterol and high uric acid and I always palpitate but everything was resolved with the help of changing my diet and lifestyle. I also stop eating pork and switched to eating more vegies and fruits. Changing my diet improved my health a lot. I used to think that it was too impossible for me to lose weight but I've decided to change my diet and lifestyle and I can say that it's one of the best decisions in life that I ever made. I feel great now. :)

Keeping track of what I eat in a day makes a big difference. Even if you only do it for a day or two, it's interesting to see how many extra calories sneak into your diet.

My mom bought smaller dinner plates, so your portions look bigger but are actually smaller.

I also rarely snack, because of the extra calories thing. If I think I'm hungry for a snack, I ask myself if I would be willing to eat vegetables, and if I'm not, I don't actually need food.

Brian Wansink wrote a great book, Mindless Eating, that explains how to eat the right amount of food. Even if you don't change what kind of food you eat, you can lose weight by controlling the portion size. http://www.mindlesseating.org/

Here are some of the tips I could give you to help you loosen extra pounds...

1. Less meat, more vegetables.
2. Eat fruits than junk foods if you want snacks.
3. Detoxify. Eat just fruits for one whole day.
4. Lessen foods with too much artificial flavorings and fats.
5. Drink lots of water.
6. Take fiber-filled foods. (Nesvita, Oatmeal)
7. Less Coffee, more fruit juices.
8. Eat diet or low-calorie stuffs.

You can also try doing the after-6 technique (a person shouldn't be eating after 6pm). That one really works! ^^
