What can you tell me about the Rose Breasted Grosbeak?
I have put out bird food specifically designed to attract Indigo Buntings and much to my surprise .. no Buntings yet..... but a new very musical neighbor has decided to move into my backyard, the Rose Breasted Grosbeak. What is the range of this bird? What are its feeding and breeding habits? What else can you tell me about the Rose Breasted Grosbeak?

A much more likely bird at your feeder than the buntings. They breed throughout New England and further west. They winter in South and Central America. If you see a similar sized bird that is brownish like a sparrow with one, that is probably the female. Only the males have the fancy outfit. They eat both insects and seeds, and like feeders. Usually you see one or two at a time.
