What breed of dogs are the largest?

The tallest dog breed in the world is the Irish Wolfhound, who normally grow to a height of 35 inches (almost three feet!). The largest dog breed in the world is the English Mastiff, who, while not as tall as the Irish Wolfhound (only growing to an average of 30 inches), can weigh up to 250 pounds… making it larger overall.
As to which dog breed would get the fattest… there’s no real way to answer that. Certainly any of the large breeds are capable of that. You have to remember that dogs won’t stop eating when they’re full. They will overeat if you allow them to, so a Great Dane or a St. Bernard could easily become grossly overweight if their eating and exercise habits aren’t closely monitored.
