I recommend Lucky Jeans. They have a large selection of styles and washes and have a fit to flatter most shapes. Their retail prices tend to range in the $90-$150 range which is above your $100 price. However, they have quite a few pairs on sale for half price which are $50-$75 so those are the pairs I am referencing.

For the non-sale pants, you can sort by inseam and they have Long (35") and Extra Long (37"). Perhaps one of these will work well for you. Here's a link to the men's pants on sale:

http://www.luckybrand.com/search.aspx?l=00040021001200000000

The pants available in longer inseam will specifically show "Exclusive Length" under their picture.

My husband also has flattering jeans from Banana Republic. They have a nice selection including nice darker washes. You need to click on Tall once you have accessed a pair. Here's a link to a nice bootcut pair that comes in 36" length:

http://www.bananarepublic.com/browse/product.do?cid=7057&pid=590330

All of their jeans are less than $100 at full retail price. Here's a link to their listings of all mens jeans:

http://www.bananarepublic.com/browse/category.do?cid=5389&mlink=5343,452279,2&clink=452279

My husband's jeans from Banana Republic seem to last for a very long time and retain their color.

Check out The Buckle. They carry a ton of jeans for under $100.00, plus they carry inseams up to a 38 inch inseam. Plus they have free alterations. Jeans last a long time and they carry a warranty. Hard to beat that..

I've ordered from Makeyourownjeans.com several times and they do an excellent job. They make custom jeans in India for around $48-$60 per pair plus shipping. They're especially good if you find you usually have to have retail jeans altered (I do).

You provide them with your measurements (they have a step-by-step guide online) and they make the jeans based on these. I was expecting the first pair to be a "beta" that I would then use to refine the measurements for a final pair, but the fit of the first pair nearly perfect. I don't like details like rivets and the leather-like labels, so I just ask them to leave them off, which they do.

The workmanship is maybe a smidgen below that of Levi's, but for me, having a perfect fit more than makes up for it.

If you decide to order, it's a good idea to read the customer feedback on their web site so you can anticipate the things that might go wrong (usually incorrect measurements).

EDIT: Hmm, someone marked this "unhelpful" before the edit period even expired. I wish I knew why. It might be worth making it a requirement to leave a short comment when marking answers unhelpful. :(

Buckle's brand, BKE, makes amazing jeans. I've been wearing them for years. I am tall and skinny and wear 28x34 and it's one of the few brands that actually make my size. I have also bought 36 length BKE pants before, so I know they come in 36. Buckle's sizes are Short (30), Regular (32), Long (34) and Extra Long (36) as far as the inseam sizes go. BKE pants are usually between $68 and $84 and they last a very, very long time and are very stylish and comfortable.

I would have to ask what exactly you were looking for in a pair of jeans. If you're looking for durability and comfort, Wrangler jeans are often underrated because of larger name stores. They have several different cuts and styles, all of which are designed to be comfortable, stylish and durable. The nice part about them is you could probably get four different pairs for under $100.

And yes, according to several different sites that sell Wrangler, they do come in 36 length.

I may just be cheap, but at $8/each Walmart's "Faded Glory" would give you a boat load of life out of them, considering you could buy 9 pairs and wear them out - unlike buying 1-2 pair of "name brand" fancy stuff.

American Eagle has great jeans (particularly boot-cut styles) for under $100 a pop. I believe they sell up to 38L, so you shouldn't have a problem getting a 36.

If you're really going for economy, try looking for Levi Strauss jeans at Target. My cheapest jeans ever ($4) came from there, and I remember seeing some big sizes. H&M is also worth a look, although their sizes are a little smaller than standard. They should have a 36L for men's jeans, though.

At the middle of your price range, try Guess or Replay (when they're on sale). Topman, a British brand, deserves a special mention because their jeans are FANTASTIC. Topman styles range from ultra-skinny rocker jeans to loose fit denims, so you've got a large selection. Their prices are typically under $100 to begin with, but they currently have a big sale. Amazing jeans for as low as $30 (and free shipping to boot). And they have 36L.

If you can spare the time, look for 7 Jeans on sale. That could range from $9.99 (saw one once at TJ Maxx) to $99 (normal clearance sale). It's expensive, yes, but their cuts can really flatter your assets, and then some.

A great brand of jeans for men is Buffalo jeans prices vary but some are under 100$. These jeans are well fitted on most people and are very popular. If you want the best brand of jeans you can get but you just think its to pricey you can try department stores such as Century 21 and Lohemans.

I have to agree with some of the other posters with the Lucky Brand jeans. They are just awesome. However, I know many times you can buy 2 to 4 pair of some other brands for one pair of the Lucky's.

Here are some other brands that do come in a 36 inch inseam and are under $100.

Carhartt - These more of a work jean, but some of the styles are stylish enough for casual wear. If you shop around you can probably find them for about 30 to 40 bucks a pair.

7 for All Mankind - Most usually these are over $100, but I am going to tell you these because if you shop around on eBay, you can sometimes get them for about 60 bucks. Just make sure you buy from a reputable buyer because there are many fakes with this brand. It's very trendy.

Wrangle - You know, Wrangler used to be such a country western brand. However, they now have plenty of styles that are current.

RedHead - These are more of a budget jean. You can find them online probably for about 20 or 30 bucks a pair.

Volcom - These are very stylish and trendy blue jeans. They run about 60 bucks online.

Quiksilver - This brand is harder to find, but sure is nice.

I would shop around at Marshalls and Tj Maxx as well. They get some really nice brands in at times and have on occasion will have odd sizes.

If you doubled or tripled your budget, I would say Samurai, Skulls or in just below the $200 range Nudie. My pair of Samurais are by far the best jeans I have ever owned and when I try on other jeans from my closet the fit, weight and construction are simply inferior.
In the sub-$100 range, go for Levi's 501's shrink-to-fit. Best jeans you'll get for that price.

Prana makes amazing pants and especially jeans. Their jeans have a ton elastic built into them which makes them very stretchy (made for climbing). In addition, the gusseted crotch gives you a ton of mobility and allows for a lot of movement. The dark color makes it possible to pull them on in the morning, go bouldering, and jump into a board meeting after lunch. Perfect
