What board games do you like?

It is always a struggle to get people to sit down and play old fashioned board games, but once we do we really have fun. We like Scrabble and Monopoly. Another game we like is Rack-o, but that is more a card game than a board game. I also like Yahtzee.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

We try to have a family game night at least once a week. We usually have so much fun that we play more than once a week. We play Scrabble, Yahtzee, and Dominos. All of these help my son with spelling, counting and adding which is why I picked them. :) I think it is important to show your children that there is more to life than TV and video games.

I admit that I almost never play boardgames anymore. That being said, I've always liked Monopoly. The problem with Monopoly is that it's too long, and the game is only made great if everyone takes it very seriously. The deals are what makes the game, so if people aren't prepared to properly consider your offers, it degrades into a simple game of chance. Scrabble can be fun, but I also find it somewhat frustrating; especially if I can't seem to get the letters I want.

I hardly ever play board games anymore, but I used to love Monopoly, Parcheesi, Chinese Checkers, and Backgammon.

I have to agree that I am like most other people. I never play board games anymore. I do play a lot of games on the computer that are based on board games and I enjoy them immensely. I play online Scrabble, Parcheesi, Yahtzee and Monopoly. Those happen to be the same games that I used to enjoy on regular board games. It is just so much easier to go online and play. You don't have to go get the game, open it up, set it all up etc. Then when you're done, you have to clean it all up and put it away. Being online, I can just go online and find the game and play. Plus I always can find someone to play-even if it is just the computer. lolI guess I've just gotten lazy in my old age. :-)
