Perhaps a more important question is which herbs are known to put a strain on liver and/or kidney function which is something you do NOT want.

I have been close to several cancer patients. My father, a physician, was the man in the lab who actually made the diagnosis of cancer for patients and then reported same to the patient's doctor. It is extremely important that anyone taking vitamins, minerals and herbs tell their doctor as many medications and treatments interact with vitamins, minerals and herbs. Also, many cancer treatments temporarily affect the liver and/or kidney also. There are also certain medical and psychiatric conditions that require complete avoidance of very specific herbs to prevent severe reacations or worsening of the medical or psychiatric condition.

Another consideration is that the FDA does not test vitamin, mineral and herbal supplements. Please check an independent source to see if the supplements a cancer patiernt (or any individual) is taking actually contains what it claims to contain, contains the dosage it claims to contain and is not contaminated with heavy metals or something else unexpected and potentially dangerous.

I do NOT claim to know anything about cancer. And I am not claiming that the product I talking about here cures anything including cancer. What I do know is what the research and what members are saying about this juice called Monavie active. My family personally drink it for the health benefits and I guarantee that none of us have had so much as a cold since we started drinking it almost 2 years ago. Yes I do Monavie as a business but I'm not even going to share my link with you just to prove that I'm not here to separate you from your money.

Designed for easy absorption in the body, just 2–4 ounces of MonaVie per day provides you with the phytonutrients and antioxidants found in many of the world's most nutritious fruits—including açai.

Açai contains concentrated levels of anthocyanins—a powerful family of antioxidants that assists in neutralizing the harmful effects free radicals can have on your body. Through an exclusive freeze-drying process, MonaVie is able to capture the vital nutrients found in this delicate fruit. MonaVie's freeze-dried açai powder boasts an ORAC score (a measure of antioxidant power) higher than any other fruit or vegetable tested to date, on a gram-for-gram basis.

Monavie was in the most recent inc 500 magazine voted the #1 company in it's category. I along with millions of others know why.

The following is copied from the article in that magazine;

After only four short years, to be recognized as No. 1 in our category of Food & Beverage, No. 3 in total revenue during 2008, and No. 18 overall is huge news for MonaVie and for you. Just think, with the hundreds of thousands of companies that have been launched since 2005, only two companies—an electronics company and a real estate company—generated more revenue than MonaVie in 2008. Now that’s EXCEPTIONAL! And we credit you—the greatest distributors in the history of direct selling—for this company’s success. Thank you for being exceptional in the way you conduct your MonaVie business.

Dallin A. Larsen's nutrition company was on the brink of collapse -- and then a friend tipped him off to a little-known berry found in Brazil called açai, which was said to be an antidote to premature aging. Four years later, MonaVie has sales of almost $1 billion of its namesake, an antioxidant-rich açai juice. Although the health merits of the company's products and its multilevel marketing structure have come under fire, Larsen is unfazed. And so, apparently, is MonaVie's rapidly expanding customer base.

My goal is not for MonaVie to be the best company in the world, but to be the best company for the world. We founded the MORE Project, which is helping to feed, clothe, and educate over 1,500 children and adults in the slums of Brazil. We want to give back. At our most recent meeting, we raised over $1.1 million from our distributors. But although I'm pleased with what we've accomplished, I'm not satisfied yet.
_________

Lake City, UT - August 27, 2009 - Utah Business magazine unveiled the winners of the second annual Fast 50 awards program, naming MonaVie as the No. 1 fastest growing company in Utah. The program recognizes those innovative companies with the concepts and strategies that are propelling them to the top of the charts. The list of fifty companies includes Omniture (No.2) and Overstock.com (No. 35).
_________

Bottom line, those who this juice have helped really know it helps. If you search you will find people slamming this company. Know this, it doesn't matter what company, in what category your interested in you will find people at the ready to bash them.

You have 0 to lose by trying for yourself and everything to gain if it helps you in anyway shape or form.

Hope this answer helps. Be Well

I'm a vancer survivor and also a survivor of another life-threatening illness. I would be the first person to tell you that an alternative product worked for me. and I would tell you that that was also anecdotal evidence based on my experience, NOT scientific evidence.

A couple of the alternative supplements I have used for minot conditions have in the intervening 20 years panned out, i.e., in double-blind studies, multiple, replicable studies they have proved their worth and are now being "prescribed' by mainstream doctors as an alternative to prescription drugs. I'll give you an example: 100% pure cranberry juice - no sugar or other juice added and cranberry juice tablets for UTIs (Urinary tract Infections). This is an example of a berry that has particular properties which have scientifically been shown to have efficacy. another example: Omega 3 (found in many thiings, including certain deep-sea fish oils). Omega 3s have anti-inflammatory properties according to replicable, double-blind studies published in peer-reviewed medical journals edited by M.D.s.

I have no commercial interest in the research, production or sale/marketing/MLM scam of any medicine or alternative healing product unlike YOU, sir.

Everytime, someone is told that they can "prevent" acute or "chronic" illneses by takiing somoe over-priced juice or supplement that is unproven as a preventative or treatment of anything (and there is a new supplement with matching Multi-Level Marketing Scam about every 5 years or so in some sort of cycle) - some person assumes that they can forgo medical exams, or ignore sypmtoms, or lower the dose of their prescribed medicine or even forgo or halt their treatments.

Right after my diagnosis some scamster did a "Road Show" at my local food co-op and gave me a sample of Acai juice trying to convince me that it has anti-cancer properties. This week is my 5 year anniversary as a survivor b/c I had three surgeries - not, Sir because IO pissed away my money on juice that has been heavily tested in the last 5 years in studies NOT funded by the Acai producers/industry and FOUND TO CONTAIN NO MORE ANTI-OXIDANTS THAN ANY OTHER RED FRUIT!!! - AND TO HAVE NO MEDICINAL VALUE WHATSOEVER IN TREATING CANCER OR ANY OTHER OF THE LONG LIST OF CONDITIONS OR ILLNESSES WHICH ACAI SALESMEN CLAIM WHEN ACTUALLY SELLING TO A SUCKER!

GO ahead and make money on this half-decade's scam MLM juice if you want. But dont fool yourself into believing you are doing anything other than what you are doing. And pray that you don't ever actually sell to someone who buys the literature B.S. and (I suspect) your sales B.S. and skips proper medical care and becomes very ill...or even dies while happilyu forking over money when a BIG BOWL OF RASPBERRIES ND STRAWBERRIES would have given them the anti-oxidants they needed (not to mention JUST 1 OR 2 ANTI-OXIDANT CAPSLES A DAY.

Oh, about your argument by fallacy concerning the numbers: Just because something sells well doesn't make it effective or the best.

The best selling wine in this country is rot-gut. I wouldn't serve it to a wine, personally. The wines with the lowest sales numbers are some of the finest wines made in the world. (See California Cult Wines. I'm not finished working on this Page yet but just for you I might mention that sales numbers can be inversely proportional to quality. Or haven't you heard that what is popular is too, too often the mediocre?

Winespy, if a natural product like Monavie worked for you would you then say and I quote,"mean nothing with out sound, scientific, unbiased, double-blind, reeplicable studies (plural!) in peer-reviewed medical journals."

I believe God not only uses doctors but his own creation to heal. After all, let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine thy food. I forget where I read that, I wish I could give credit where credit is due.

Thank you for your research, winespy, it obvious you are passionate about health. Be Well.

I wish you well selling Monavie, (Acai) to healthy individuals.

However, show us a double-blind, scientific, peer-reviewed study in a medical journal such as The Journal of the American Medical Association, The New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet (British), CA: A Cancer Journal for Clinicians Cacncer, Cancer Cytopathology, etc. where it demonstrates that Acai treats or cures cancer in a patient who currently has cancer.

For an analysis of the existing unbiased, scientific studies on acai please see http://www.consumberlab.com. Like Consumer Reports they are an independent testing organization, unbiased, with no axes to grind and with no commercial interests in any of these products. Consumer labs is run be a physician, a medical doctor with an M.D. after his name.

The popularity of a product, as well as the amount of units a product has sold, or amount of money it has made for some people, particularly in MLM (multi-level marketing schemes) has nothing to do with the efficacy of a product for a particular purpose, in this case health care.

Most importantly, anecdotal evidence such as "We use it", ""It works for me", "I feel better", "I was cured" mean nothing with out sound, scientific, unbiased, double-blind, reeplicable studies (plural!) in peer-reviewed medical journals.

Will you find the study and article that shows "Acai treats or cures cancer in a patient who currently has cancer"?

What type of cancer spreading through the patient?

Was the patient in terminal stages of cancer?

What elements of Acai were thought to have stopped the cancer?
