Here's my analysis:
Top point guards determined solely by team victories: Jason Kidd - Dallas 55 team victories, Steve Nash - Phoenix 54 team victories, Aaron Brooks - Houston and Chauncey Billups - Denver 53 team victories, Rajon Rondo - Boston, Russell Westbrook - Oklahoma City and Andre Miller - Portland 50 team victories
Top guards determined by points per game: Derrick Rose - Chicago Bulls 20.8, Tyreke Evans - Sacramento Kings 20.1, Aaron Brooks - Houston Rockets 19.6, Chauncey Billups - Denver 19.5, Chris Paul - New Orleans - 18.7, Stephen Curry - Golden State 17.5, Rodney Stuckey - Detroit Pistons 16.6, Steve Nash - Phoenix 16.5, Russell Westbrook - Oklahoma City 16.1
Top point guards determined by assists per game: Steve Nash - Phoenix 11.0, Chris Paul - New Orleans 10.7, Deron Williams - Utah 10.5, Rajon Rondo - Boston 9.8, Jason Kidd - Dallas 9.1, Baron Davis - Los Angeles Clippers 8.0, Russell Westbrook - Oklahoma City 8.0, Devon Harris - New Jersey Nets 6.6, Derrick Rose - Chicago 6.1
Notice that Steve Nash and Russell Westbrook are the only players on all three lists. Jason Kidd and Rajon Rondo appear for assists and wins and Chauncey Billups appears for wins and scoring. So this rounds out my top five.

M$Chauncey Billups (Nuggets)
Steve Nash (Suns)
Rajon Rondo (Celtics)
Jason Kidd (Mavericks)
The list would have definitely included Chris Paul but my selections were based on the past season and Chris Paul was injured for a majority of the season.

M$1. Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns – always consistent he steered the Suns again to the playoffs with his great contributions in both defensive and offensive ends of the court.
2. Deron Williams of the Utah Jazz A consummate point guard who can do anything on the court- score, steals, points, picks, outside sniping and hustle.
3. Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets – One of the league’s promising point guard he will soon be one of the premier point guards when he will reach his prime
4. Jason Kidd of the Dallas Mavericks- the triple double king still has some juice left as Kidd was instrumental in the strong finish of the Dallas in the regular season
5. Tyreke Evans of the Sacramento Kings – this year’s Rookie of the Year Awardee (2010)
These guys are not only excellent in providing plays for their respective games but has the heart and sound ball handling skills that makes them a cut above the rest from their peers.
