-Beavis and Butthead Do America (sounds weird, but this is seriously a great soundtrack.
-Belly (one of the best hip-hop soundtracks ever)
-Alpha Dog (the movie isn't so great, but the soundtrack featuring a handful of underground artists, including my favorite Tech N9ne, is excellent)
-Requiem for a Dream (amazing score, simply put)
-The Hurricane (originally purchased solely for Bob Dylan's title track, but this soundtrack has great songs by both modern hip-hop artists and classic rockers and soul singers)

M$Me too, the Lenard Cowan version is great. Though after awhile I did grow to like the version on the disc.
I'm a sucker for "Footloose" not sure why. I even went to see it on Broadway when I was in New York last (like 10 years ago)
I have yet to see the broadway version. I liked the Pump up the Volume soundtrack, but was disappointed that the "Everybody knows" song was different than the one played in the movie.

M$- Dazed and Confused (GREAT '70s era classic rock soundtrack)
- Once (the music basically is the movie)
- South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut (basically the dirtiest, most profane musical ever)
- This Is Spinal Tap (much of the genius of the film lies in the songs)
- That Thing You Do (puts together a collection of new songs that blend seamlessly with the early rock 'n' roll theme of the film)
I'll also give a shout out to Ghostbusters II, because that Bobby Brown song is awesome.

M$- High Fidelity: A great introduction to contemporary "college" or "alternative" rock with a few great deep tracks from masters like Bob Dylan or Stevie Wonder thrown in for good measure. Worth buying for Beta Band's "Dry he Rain" alone.
- Judgment Night: This soundtrack was the first time I heard hip-hop and hard rock brought together, and the result is pretty consistently great. I mean, how many movies can manage to bring together Dinosaur Jr and Del tha Funkee Homosapien?
- Pulp Fiction: This soundtrack works in its own right as just a great album, but I also like how it immediately brings you back to the world of the movie. So many good songs - "Son of a Preacher Man," Urge Overkill's cover of "Girl You'll Be a Woman Soon," "Jungle Boogie"...love it...
- Zero Effect: A regrettably forgotten movie with a killer alt-country soundtrack to go along with it. This was my introduction to Heatmiser, Elliott Smith's band before he went solo, so it gets included on that basis alone. Seriously...everyone...rent "Zero Effect" and then listen to the soundtrack. You'll thank me.
