Sexual predators are dangerous. They prey on children, usually ones that they know. Would I be comfortable living nest to a sexual predator if I had small children? That answer is definitely NO! I would not. I do not know what the answer to this question is, but do you risk the lives of children to give a sexual predator another chance? I guess my answer would be no.
Maybe if our laws required them to be medically altered or monitored we, as a society would feel more comfortable. It is well known that they repeat their crimes over and over again. There is no real evidence that they are ever “cured”, so I really do not know the answer to the question, I only know that I would not want to live near a sexual predator, whether or not I had children.

M$While there are many repeat offenders, some do change from their ways and go on to live productive lives in society. In the end, there isn’t a clear-cut system in place to ensure people’s safety from sexual predators or on the other side, their chance to re-enter society.
In your friend’s case, the best thing to do is to stay on guard but at the same time do not harass the predator. Harassing could be counter-effective and lead them back to the behavior they got in trouble for in the first place.
