What are your thoughts about buying virtual items online? Have you every bought any? Why/why not?

Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Yeah, I've never gotten into the virtual stuff either...although I'm sure it can get addictive. In a virtual world you can do pretty much anything, I've heard...the possibilities are limitless. At this point in my life, though, I don't have the real stuff figured out yet; maybe when I do I can figure out the virtual stuff as a fun side-project...

One thing I am fascinated about is the whole concept of advertising in virtual worlds...I'd like to try infiltrating my band into a virtual world at some point -- find some virtual bars and play our songs on some virtual jukeboxes maybe...

I have been an early adopter of most things, but I don't remember having bought any virtual items, and i don't play second life. Maybe my real life is just full :)

I also have some other great news I found a place where you can find great services virtually from the comfort of your home. Go and visit http://www.virtualservicespark.com/ and find all the projects you want to help on. I got a couple of services and I am now actually getting all my projects done at virtualservicespark because there are a large variety of services and I can get them all in one place and get to work with the same team. I have also saved a ton of money doing this for I only pay for the service I buy and no overheads. Don't take my word for it, go visit yourself. Just one developer to another!
