What are your opinion's on the Calista Springer case? Do you think the parents as well as the ...

case worker should all be charged the same? This 16 year old special needs child was chained to her bed with a "dog chain" with the parents claiming "it was to protect her from harming herself". She was pulled from regular school once Calista started talking to others about the abuse she went through. The case worker in this case was very aware of what this child went through and did NOTHING to help her. They have defense witnesses on today just cutting down the poor helpless child and saying what a problem she could be. I have a very hard time with the dad in this case letting the "step-mom" treat her in the way she did.

From what I understand about the Callista Springer case, I am so saddened. The parents absolutely deserve to spend their life in prison and if the caseworker was aware of the situation, they should be in prison as well. There are so many options if your child is wandering the house or getting into trouble. Perhaps the parents or caseworker could have advised a special needs home for this child, where she could have gotten proper help. The parents or caseworker could have hired someone to sit at the edge of her bed as she slept. They could have tried everything and anything else. As a parent, you keep trying until something works. Chaining your daughter to her bad with a dog chain is not an option. I understand there was other abuse reported and she was denied food. I hope the parents get what the deserve, no child should have to be treated or die this way. The parents should be locked up, the caseworker should be locked up and other other adult that was aware of the situation and did not take steps to protect this child, should be in jail, as well.
