What are your favorite toppings for Nachos?

Since it's Super Bowl Sunday and Nachos always seem popular during the Super Bowl I'm curious how everyone makes their nachos.

Do you only use a certain kind of chip? Cheese? Toppings?

With mine I use
Nacho Cheese Doritos, Black Olives, Jalepenos, Mushrooms, Shredded Mexican Blend Cheese and Pinto Beans. Bake them in the oven til it looks done and then I put some sour cream and guacamole on top and dig in!
Tip for best answer: M$0.25

I'm a purist, just a few ingredients: tortilla chips, queso (not the cheddary crap - queso), pinto beans, pico de gallo, and sour cream. No baking, that makes the chips too crunchy - I like them to eventually mush into a big soggy mess that I have to resort to eating with a spoon.

I'm hungry now. Thanks. ;)

You're welcome! I love having to bring the big spoons out to finish off the Nacho mess. Thanks for answering!

Superbowl Sunday always makes me homesick. The best recipe for nachos? A layer of plain tortilla chips, a layer of cheddar, baked. A side of ground beef or chicken slices, sauteed in fresh onions and garlic, add chili peppers and cumin. Top it all with black olives, chopped tomatoes, a little bit of lettuce and have vast quantities of salsas, guacamole and sour cream for dipping...I totally agree with potterarchy. I'm hungry now too. :)

i don't mind the "Cheddar sauce" commonly used at sporting events. I actually like it on my nachos with pickled jalapenos. But i believe in unflavored chips. Just gold old regular Tostitos, not flavored Dorritos. Those i eat without toppings.

At home i make a nice bean dip my friend taught me.
refried beans mixed with taco seasoning
ground beef or chopped sirloin seasoned with taco seasoning
bake it with shredded cheddar
then a layer of lettuce, jalapenos, salsa and sour cream and some more cheese on top

The main secret is to season the beans. It makes a huge difference.

Hi we had a Super Bowl Party for the grandkids and here are the toppings we had:H omemade chili, jalapeno peppers, cheese sauce, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, green onion and regular onions. We would have had guacamole , but avocados are too high. Something for everyone. We had a wonderful fill of nachos at our party!
