What are your best safety tips for protecting children from drowning? What measures will you take to protect kids from your swimming pool?

I don't have children so I can only give you safety tips from common sense.
The best way to keep your children from drowning is
1. Make sure they are always watched so that they don't suddenly fall in to the pool
2. Make sure they have basic swimming skills
If I had children, I would make sure that I enroll them into a swimming class as early as possible to protect them from drowning. Of course, if they were playing around a swimming pool and they didn't know how to swim, I would definitely keep or make sure someone has an eye on the children so that even if they do fall in, we're right there to prevent them from drowning.
