What are you planning to do to save money this holiday season? Will you try to hide those efforts from your kids (if you have any)?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Most of my Christmas Money comes from writing articles online. My kids know I do this but not how much money I make.

Honestly I'm not doing anything different than I usually do. I'm actually considering splurging and buying myself a great purse or boots and saying they're from my daughter.

I've busted my arse this year and I do it for my daughter and my family. I will not spend myself into debt but I do want to enjoy the holidays and not worry or feel guilty about spending. I figure I've been saving and budgeting and living frugally long enough that I deserve a small break. A very small one.

If anything, I am planning on trying to buy my daughter more useful gifts like books and games. I'm so tired of all of the wasted money on junk and trinkets that she doesn't look at twice and serves no purpose. I guess that means I'll be trying to shop more wisely.
